I never thought I would be old. My grandmother was old, and I would never be her age. I thought I would always be able to do anything I wanted to do. And I do, to a degree, and that degree is getting lower and lower.
I have aches and pains I didn't even know existed, and try as I might, they don't go away. It is the little things that bug me now that I am old.
I drop everything. Everything. I forget. Everything. My husband and I now finish one another's sentences. What's up with that? When I vacuum the living room, I have to sit down about half way through. I have to hold on to something to get in and out of the bathtub. I lose my balance extremely easy and have to be very careful when I get up, or turn around. I can actually trip on something that isn't even there!
If you are of the 'old' age group, can you add to any of the above. To my young friends, enjoy life because one day, you will join us in the old age group!
Grow old with me! The best is yet to be. ~Robert Browning
Old age is fifteen years older than I am. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty — they merely move it from their faces into their hearts. ~Martin Buxbaum
..................and last but not least:
It's important to have a twinkle in your wrinkle. ~Author Unknown
