DELAY

I have been online for 15 years and have been blogging almost that long.  Started with yahoo 360, then Multiply, and now Blogger.

I reset my entire system last night due to some problems, and now I am having to completely set my computer up as if it were brand new.  In resetting, I lost everything, so bear with me until I can get it back up to par.

Happy Saturday to you and yours!

IT'S THAT KIND OF DAY

I would say rain, rain go away, but we really need it.  We need it to water the earth, and we need it to help cool the temps down a little.  I don't mind rain at all.

ODDS AND ENDS:
We have an appointment to have Jim's blood checked to see which blood thinner we will be using.  He has atrial fib, and I am sure some of you know what that is!  He has been taking Coumadin, which requires a blood check every month, and now have script for Eliquis and hope to take this one from now on.

Grayce got her braces put on and her mouth is a little sore.  She has an over-bite and that is what they hope to correct.

Caroline is having a sleep over tonight to celebrate her upcoming birthday on Monday. She is having 4 little girls, and Jennifer, her Mom and my daughter, said she remembers how much fun she had with sleep overs.

Rayven is getting excited and getting ready to leave on her college tour this coming Sunday.  She is washing her clothes and packing tonight. She is getting her nails done tomorrow.  The high school she attends is sponsoring this trip and they will visit 5 different colleges.  There are 25 juniors going on the trip.  We hope she might find the school she wants to attend.

Jesse is staying with us tonight until Murphy gets off work.  We thought Rayven could get a lot more done without him to 'bug' her!

The other two grands, Elizabeth and Aryn, have no plans this weekend.

I purchased a new printer yesterday.  I tried all day to print and for the life of me, I couldn't get it to work.  I am thinking it has something to do with Windows 10, that I recently installed.  I finally uninstalled it, and called it a night.  I will work on it again today.

That's it!

Hints for the day:
Useful Hints from 1900
1. Iron pillowslips lengthwise instead of crosswise if you wish to iron wrinkles out instead of in.
2. Do not give sick people fried foods or anything highly seasoned. Avoid hot bread and biscuits and strong tea and coffee.
3. Bathe the face and hands of a feverish person with warm water that has a bit of common soda dissolved in it. A few drops of alcohol or cologne are often pleasant to use to bathe the sick.
4. Marble washstands and mantelpieces can be cleansed by simply washing the surface with warm water to which a little borax has been added, polishing afterward with a dry cloth.
5. House cleaning should have no fixed date, but should depend entirely upon the weather.
6. It is rarely warm enough to leave off fires until late in the spring, but many small things can be done before the real cleaning begins.
7. Tansy leaves scattered around spots infested by ants will cause them to disappear.

DIFFERENT COLORS OF FALL

When the fall colors are in full bloom, everything isn't always gold, orange and brown.  That is one reason we enjoy the season so much, because of the difference.

Happy Thursday to you and yours.  I am thankful for your friendship here.

Update:  Rayven and her Mother had a major disagreement and Rayven is now living with Murphy.  Jesse is here this week too, so I get to enjoy them both.  I would just ask that you say a prayer for all.  The 90 day waiting period is up, and the attorney has submitted the divorce papers to the court, and as soon as it gets on the docket, it will be over....we pray.

I downloaded Windows 10 and really like it.  However, I cannot get it to work with my old printer.  Try as I might, I just couldn't get it going, so I purchased a new printer and will be hooking it up today and hopefully, I can print again.

SHOPPING

I am not a 'shopper'.  I do not like it, I do not do it unless absolutely necessary, and today is one of those days.  Groceries (ugh), pharmacy, Walmart(ugh), and just listing them makes me tired.

I hope your day is a quiet, peaceful one, unless you love to shop!  Go for it!

Hints for today:
1. Spray wd40 on a cloth and wipe over leather shoes or leather boots , then buff with a soft clean cloth to shine and make them waterproof.
2. To make nail polish stay on nails longer first coat fingernails with white vinegar using a cotton ball. Let dry then apply nail polish. To quickly dry nail polish dip fingers into a bowl of cold water. Then shake excess water from hands and allow hands to air dry.

3. Shaving your legs with hair conditioner instead of soap makes them soft and smooth. Just apply, shave, and rinse.

#2

One of my sweet blog friends posted yesterday that the background I used was a 'keeper', sooooo, I won't change it today....will just be changing the title picture!   The #2 is day 2 with same background...lol

Class meeting was good last night.  We had good food, fellowship, laughter and prayer together.  There is a lady in our church that has cancer in 3 places in her body, went for surgery and they had to close her without removing anything due to the fact that she had a stroke while on the table.  She can't work, is only in her 30's, has 4 children, no car and  so sick. When you think you are at the end of your rope and can take no more, think of this sweet lady.

Our church took up a love offering last week for her, and our class took up one as well. Several of the ladies in the church have taken her grocery shopping. They ride one of our buses to and from church, and another reason we are so thankful for our bus ministry.  We are hoping she will be able to pay her rent and utilities and keep 'a roof over their heads'.  When you pray, add 'Melissa' to your prayer list.

Hint for today:
Your Fall To-Do List--
Make sure to prep your home before the weather changes!

You already know to put fresh batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors (doing it on the days you change the clocks for Daylight Saving Time is an easy way to remember).   If any are more than 10 years old, replace them.

SIGHTS OF FALL!

When driving to the mountain, we saw the beginning of change....leaves, grass, pumpkins here and there.  It will be in full swing very soon.  I love this time of year....the colors, the bright blue sky, there is just a feeling that is hard to describe, but you will know it.

The beginning of a new week.  No appointments, yet.  Weather is to be steady.  I have a Sunday School class meeting tonight and I am taking a hashbrown casserole.  Easy, easy recipe.....

Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole

2 lbs frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
½ Cup margarine or butter, melted
1 can Cream Of Chicken Soup
½ Cup onion, chopped
2 Cups cheddar cheese, grated
½ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt

Combine soup, onion, melted butter, and seasonings, stir well. Stir in cheese and frozen hash browns. Place in 9x13 dish and bake at 350 for thirty minutes, or until bubbly.

Enjoy your day my friends.  My hint for the day is the casserole recipe!

Yesterday was a very long day.  It was nice outside, we just didn't go out there!  It was definitely football Saturday at our house, and all of the teams we cheer for, won (which is rare).

Grayce spent the day and night with us, and we love having her with us, if just for one day. Her parents and sister went to some kind of music concert in Atlanta, and she wasn't interested.  She and Aryn are as different as two people could ever be.  She is quiet, does her 'own thing', and never bothers anyone.  She is so pretty and so tall!  We stood side by side and I come to her shoulders.  She is in the 8th grade and by the time she stops growing, she will be the tallest of all of us. You can see the difference in their personalities even here.  She is on the left of 'Minnie'.

Today is church day and I can already feel an afternoon nap in order. Have a great day!

Hint for today:
I knew about some of these uses, but some I did not, and always have dryer sheets handy.
