FALL = APPLES
We are apple lovers around here, and especially apple cider, apple pie and fried apples. There is an orchard on top of Signal Mtn., and I always buy my cider there. I have tried other places, but that one is my favorite. I will buy 3-4 1/2 gallons and freeze 2.
No news except heart doc visit and church tonight.
I love to eat hot cornbread, broken up in a glass and pour buttermilk over it.
I can literally make a meal out of that. Don't like it with sweet (regular) milk, just buttermilk.
Now your turn-----------
I do not like buttermilk. Yuck!! What I DO like is cornbread broken up in a bowl and then covered in beans and ham. No that's something I can dig my fork/spoon into! Top it with chopped onions...almost forgot that! :)
ReplyDeleteA fact about me: I love yard sales. I don't always find something to my liking, but I love the hunt!! It is so hot here during the summer months that most of the community yard sales are in Oct. - May, so yard sale season is coming up!!! Last spring I bought several Chico items.....jeans, jackets, and shirts for $1 each. I was so excited I thought I would hyperventilate!! I take my granddaughters with me and they are now "trained professionals". Enjoy the apples......when I lived in Johnson City, I would travel to Roan Mountain for apples.....so good!
ReplyDeleteSue, we have a couple at church that are professional yard salers, and they have given me 3 shrugs, and gave given Jim at least 10 shirts. They love it too.
DeleteI'll be 65 in fourteen days....!!
ReplyDeleteNo buttermilk for me. But I do enjoy fall apples.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, I enjoy apples too, in just about any form one can think of. My favorite apple is Gala but there are others.
ReplyDeleteA random fact: I love medieval history, especially, but not limited to, the Tudor ages.
Hope your day is blessed. ~:)
No to buttermilk, YES to apples! Oh how I miss all the wonders that you can make with them. Gluten Free diet doesn't allow....well, I could but the pain after is not at all worth it....not even for a bite! I do make some things with GF flour but it's usually not the same.
ReplyDeleteRandom fact.... I've been to the Bahama's twice....both times because of winning a trip, yes it's true :)
My Daddy loves cornbread and buttermilk. I never liked it but Daddy did.
ReplyDeleteRandom fact: my favorite movie of all time is Fiddled on the Roof, partly filmed right here in Croatia.
I love bananas rather than apples - chopped with ice cream, chopped with hot custard, by themselves, banana split, banana loaf, muffins, oh yum, yum, yum. With cream. In fruit salad, you name it I like it but I have to confess I have still to try them fried.
