WEEK - WINDING DOWN!

Good Friday morning!  Hope you and yours are all doing well, as we end this week and look forward to Easter. Sunday is Palm Sunday and we all know the significance of that day. Does your church celebrate this day?

Took this picture as we headed over to the ball field to watch Jesse play last evening.

It is definitely spring in my corner of the world!  The pear trees are all in full bloom, along with the tulip trees and buttercups.  It won't be long until God's green earth will burst forth with many colors.  This is such a beautiful time of the year and so welcome after the hard winter we all had.

Today I will take my new vacuum out of the box (I know, had it 3 days and haven't even gotten the box open) and put it together, and if the mood strikes me, I may even use it.

Also, I think it is time to get the spring/summer clothes out of storage and put the heavy winter ones inside.  We will have a few more cool days, but no more snow - we hope.  The winter clothes, coats, jackets, etc., take up so much room in the closet, it is hard to even see what you want to wear.  Also there will be things to take to the Goodwill boxes. Jim has already cleaned the closet he uses and we have taken several bags already.....can't let him get ahead of me for long!

Jim has a patch of turnip greens, collard greens and kale that is ready to be picked. He said if it wasn't raining this morning, he would pick some and we could cook for supper tonight.  I know, this is a southern thing, but unless you have eaten any, you don't know what you are missing.  A good onion, cornbread and sliced tomatoes....yummmmmmmm.

There was an article written yesterday about my oldest granddaughter.  She has the world at her feet, and we just pray she will continue to excel. It is a long article, so I won't post it here, but if you want to read, here is the link:

  1. Aryn is an amazing young lady!! So great to see her being acknowledged!

Yes, we celebrate Palm Sunday in a big way at our church, with palms and people 'marching' in and around the church. It is a great reminder of what is to come....

So glad Jim is feeling like getting out and working some in the garden (picking the bounty!). That's great!

I also need to do some shuffling between closets, and some cleaning out, too. Good reminder!

  3. Most things are blooming in SE Georgia too. It's lovely, just wish the sun would shine for a bit. Not complaining, though, because after our area suffering through all those years of drought, this is a welcome change.
Congrats to Aryn. I pray she always does well and lives honorably.
Have a happy Palm Sunday weekend. ~:)

  4. That was a wonderful story they did about your Granddaughter. Wishing her the best in what ever and where ever she decides to do and go. I know your whole family is proud of her.

Very chilly here again today, in fact we had a few snow flurries, nothing to stick.

Hope the two of you are doing well and have a wonderful week-end.
