St. Patrick's Day

This is a special day for many as related to the church.  It is a special day for us because our granddaughter, Aryn was born on this day and she is 17 today.

She received the MVP at the sports banquet at her school.  She has a 3.8 grade point average, and made 31 on her ACT.  She has the highest # points in basketball in the whole city.  She is still deciding which college she wants to attend, but she has had at least 9 schools that continue to contact her.  She first said she wanted to be a pharmacist or physical therapist, so that remains to be seen.

The vet hospital called late yesterday afternoon to say that Spotty did great in surgery and she was 'snoozing'!

Have any of you used or heard of a cat litter called 'Yesterdays News'?  The vet recommended we use it for at least 2 weeks when Spotty comes home.  We drove to PetCo and I bought 2 bags.  It is dust free, as well as wont infect the incisions.

Ok, Happy St. Patrick's Day and if you celebrate, have fun!  My maiden name is Murphy, so I claim Irish blood!

  1. Congrats to Aryn! I know you must be proud of her. Happy Birthday to her! Happy St. Patrick's Day--my husband is of Irish/Scot descent. (and not of the good side, all drunken relations--his great grandfather was named Pearly--nothing but trouble, so I have been reading-researching.) Blessings

    1. She was contacted and has made a visit there already. She liked it and we were hoping she might choose it because it isnt too far from home, and I know how to get there....lol

  3. Excellent news about Aryn, and happy birthday to her!! She will have the pick of schools, I'm sure. Smart and talented!!

Yesterday's News is good, but it isn't clumping litter so has to be changed more often. We have tried so many, and always go back to Tidy Cat. Yesterday's News will work while she heals!! Glad it all went well.

  5. Happy St Patricks Day! We have friends named Murphy. We had supper with them and some other couples from church the other night. It was at their house and we had lots of green. :)
    Happy Birthday to Aryn!

  6. Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Birthday to Aryn! She is not only talented, but beautiful. I know she will make the right decision on college.

I have never heard of that cat litter but it sounds good. I'm going to look for it.

    1. Kathy, the litter is expensive, and doesnt clump like other litter. The only reason I bought it was because it is made from newspaper and wont infect the sutures of cats. It has to be changed more often too. So unless you have a kitty having surgery, I wouldnt recommend it.

  8. A beautiful and talented granddaughter! Blessings to her as she chooses her school. There is not a drop of Irish blood in me. I found a bit of green to wear yesterday anyway :)
