I have mentioned before that we give to all of the grandchildren (6), but they draw names, and that way, each family just has to buy 2 children's gifts. (Each family has two children of their own). We also put a $ limit for the gifts.
Then the adults sit in a circle and we put the number of adults in a hat and begin. He/she can choose a gift from under the tree or take one away from someone if they prefer. In this game, it is best to be last because you can choose from anyone or take the last present under the tree. We have fun, laugh a lot and haven't spent hundreds of dollars either! These gifts have a $ limit too.
It is sad when it is over. I am thankful this year that we are still alive - some still 'kickin' and some not, but we got to be together one more year. In a way this is our 'goodbye' to 2014 as well.
What did Tiny Tim say - GOD BLESS US ALL!
What a wonderful idea! You are so blessed to have family around. Have a wonderful day! PS LOVEEEEEEEEE the background.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your family celebrates, Linda, and look forward to some photos!!
ReplyDeleteI love this game....!! We play it at our Park Christmas party and sometimes the adults are worst than the kids at stealing the most wanted...!
ReplyDeleteWe've played this game a couple times, but due to everyone's $$ limits, we didn't buy any gifts this year. I felt so bad.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful day.
I have played that game before and it can be a lot of fun. Glad to hear your family got together :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun way to do gifts. I'm sure you've had a great day.
