NO NEW BACKGROUND!!!

Can  you believe it, I don't think I have gone a day until today, without changing my background.  I like this one so may keep it up for a little longer!

The holiday weekend is slowly slipping away.  It has been a good one and I am so thankful that we were all here, and pray we make it to another one.

Chattanooga opened it's first open air ice skating rink this weekend.  It is located on the river front where most of the tourist activity takes place these days. They said it would only be temporary through January, but maybe they will extend if it goes over. The article telling about it said the owners have the ability to make ice so it may be permanent.

This is a picture of the river front and there is a 'green space' beside the steps.  That is where the ice rink is located.  A good place to watch the skaters or the lighted boats on parade.

The same night the ice rink opened, was the same night as the lighted boat parade on the Tennessee River.  I don't know how many boats they had this year, but in years gone by, it was up to 50!  So there was much going on in this southern city this weekend.

WITH GOD, WHATEVER WE HAVE--
WHETHER LITTLE OR PLENTY--
IS ALWAYS ENOUGH.

  3. I haven't been to Chattanooga in years and years. I remember the Chattanooga Choo-Choo train. I think I remember it was turned into a hotel. Is it still there?

    1. It was turned into a hotel and has lots of other things around it - restaurant, gift shops, book stores, etc.

  5. I really like this background and understand why you want to hang onto it for awhile!! It's always fun to see your new ones, but this one is great! We have ice skating, too, but it's indoors at our convention center, through January. I went with Lauren once, years ago, and had such a good time. No ice skating for me anymore. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Linda!

  8. The background is adorable. I vote for keeping it too. :)
Chattanooga must be a great city to live near or in.
I haven't ice skated in donkey's years. There used to be an annual ice skating rink in Jacksonville, Florida, in the Coliseum. It was fun. Growing up in Central Florida, my thing on Saturday was roller skating. Those are happy memories.
    Luv ~:)

  9. I like your background too. I would love to see the lighted boats on the river. And the rink after dark. I don't ice skate, never learned how. My ankles are too weak. I think it'd be nice if our town would do something like that for people/kids here.
