LIFE AS WE KNOW IT

I am back!  Seems like there is something new to be posted.  Nothing exciting, just life.

I am going to my Sunday School class meeting at a long time friend's house in the country.  She attends another church, but was a member of mine for many years, taught in the Christian School our children attended, and her son rode to and from school with us for years.  She came and had the devotion at a meeting earlier this year, and she is cooking lunch for us, and just wanted fellowship with us again.  Nice lady!

Our church had a special prayer service last night.  It was very humbling, moving and sweet.  We prayed for those lost in the tragedy this week, for their families, our country and leaders.  We prayed for several people of our church that are fighting for their lives, some having serious surgery, some who have recovered from surgery, and for the Bible Club that is being held this evening.  Many, many attended.  I heard crying, of which I was one.  I am very tender hearted and feel so strongly for others in their troubles.
This is being held at one of the elementary schools in our neighborhood and we are hoping and praying for folks to attend with their children.  It will be a fun time and those attending with also hear a Bible message. The children will love the 'candy cannon'!  Jesse is with his Mother this weekend, so he wont be able to go....:-(

Hint for the day:

  4. I love the idea of taking the church to the community. The church that I am attending since our move is big but I miss the sense of community-even when it wasn't all nice;) This church here does a Sunday of service to others. I hope to get involved in that.
