FUN IN THE GARDEN ----- NOT!

We had a rough day yesterday.  I didn't feel good at all, and was 'low key' all day. About 4:30 in the afternoon,

Jim had gone out to check the garden.  He goes on the riding mower.  As long as I can hear it, I know all is well.  It hit me....no sound, so I went out the front door, looked right and left, and then to the driveway, and saw what I didn't want to see.  Jim was laying face down out by the garden.  Second time this week.  I ran out to him, saw that he was alive, PTL, so I ran back to the house to call for help.  The EMT's arrived, got him in the house, bandaged all the places on his arms and legs.  We both needed to sit and catch our breath, and that is when I realized I had broken blood vessels in my right hand.
Jim didn't want pictures of his injuries, but both legs, and both arms had torn skin, and was bleeding through the bandages I had put on, plus he had new places.  I guess in the process of trying to get him up, I bumped my hand on some part of the mower. After we got settled down, I put an ice pack on it, and the swelling went down, but the bruising will take a day or two.

We are not going to church this morning.

  1. Sorry to hear this, poor Jim, I know he feels awful.
I do the same thing when The Bennie is out in the yard I listen for the sounds. Hope your hand feels better but know how bad it looks.
We both bruise so bad now with the slightest bump.

  16. Oh my, and with Murphy away! Glad you could get the EMTs to help. Your hand looks really sore. I think it will take more than a day or two for that bruise to fade. Glad Jim is just scratched up and didn't break anything! Scary stuff. Hugs.
