Our day yesterday was super great. All of our children, and their children, came for a visit. Our son, Murphy, took everyone out to the garden so he could show them the progress being made. The strawberries are baring and the young ones got to pick handfuls. They had planned to take them home, but lo and behold, ate them all right out of the garden. No chemicals allowed on this garden, so it was safe to eat! These are so sweet, and there are 3 additional kinds to bloom later in the summer.
When our family does get together, we all seem to have something to share, and the talk goes on for hours! Yesterday was no exception.
It was so good to be together, see how the young ones have grown and hear everything that is going on in their lives. School will be out here in another week, and of course they are looking forward to that.
A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining,
the breeze is blowing,
the birds are singing,.
and the lawn mower is broken.

Something we will all need and soon...............Half a lime with whole cloves, a good mosquito repellent!
Good Morning, Sounds like a delightful time with your children/grandchildren. The strawberries sound delicious. Thx for sharing about the cloves and lime...I had no idea!
ReplyDeleteGod bless your day.
I'm so glad y'all had a good day. You're building wonderful memories for the little ones. Can't wait to try the lime and cloves idea! Thanks for sharing that.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day. ~:)
I never heard the limes and cloves trick either. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had time with family yesterday - sounds so nice!
My husband said he'll put the cloves in the lime! LOL! We hate the mosquitos around here. They are wicked!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day yesterday. So glad you were able to get together with your family. Those strawberries sound delicious.
Sounds like the perfect day to me, surrounded by family:) Thanks for the tip! We were sitting out by the pool Sunday afternoon and the mosquitoes were there too! Enjoy your day dear friend, BIG HUGS!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! You are so blessed!

ReplyDeleteHere I am, better late then never. LOL I got behind in reading Blogs and I'm still not caught up. My shingles are gone, but the pain and burning is lots worse then when I had them. Our one daughter had her gall bladder surgery yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThree of our five kids came for Mother's Day. They did all the cooking. Home made noodles with chicken, mashed potatoes (Pioneer Woman's Recipe) scalloped corn, cole slaw with the vinegar and oil dressing, stewed tomatoes with croutons, home made hot rolls, home made apricot pie and home made chocolate cake. Way too much food, we had left overs for supper last night (Tuesday).
Our son lives in Fl, he called and also sent me a gift card to Amazon, one daughter couldn't make it, her son was taking her to dinner, she had brought me chocolate covered cherries the week before. Esther Price candies in Dayton, have the best chocolate around.
I got a hanging basket of flowers, solar lights for the backyard, an angel on a stake that is solar powered, another angel to put outside, but I hate for it to be in the weather, so I may keep it in the house, a cross stitched dish towel, two stakes for outside, that adsorbs the light and glows a greenish color, they look like little metal flowers, new pair of house slippers, and another hanging basket daughter that was bringing so much of the food forget and left it sitting by the garage door, she'll bring it over later, and a flag for my small flag hook close to the front door. Plus a very heavy oblong dish to put bird seed in and set on window ledge, it looks like the one side is full of small birds. I also hate to get it messed up, so I may keep it by my computer and put paper clips and etc in it. Also a soap dish that has a verse about Mother, but I think I will use that to hold my watch and earrings when I take them off, so often I lay them on the table in the kitchen. Soap would mess up the dish, and I wouldn't be able to read the poem, unless I just laid a fresh bar on to put at the bathroom sink when the one wears down too small. Quite an assortment of things
The best part was, I didn't have to be in the kitchen except to eat. LOL
Glad you had a wonderful day also.
Sounds like a great day with all the family around you!! It will take me time to catch up, but I will!!
