ODDS AND ENDS

If we have been blog friends for a while, you know that I change my header and background every day. It may be a little odd to those that are new, but that is just 'my thing'....wanted you to know why I do it!

The new medication my ortho doc gave me seems to be working.  I have less pain in the day and have been sleeping so much better.

Got the house vacuumed yesterday.  That may not seem like much to most, but it is painful and I have to vacuum one room, sit down, do another, sit down, etc. It is quite the accomplishment, when in years gone by, it was nothing.

TV advertisements are getting worse and worse. Every day I see something on there that continues to amaze(in a bad way) me.  The news reports are all bad, and getting worse every day.

Aryn (my oldest granddaughter) has gotten yet another award to add to others -

The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) is proud to announce the 2015 NHSCA High School Academic All Americans for the 2014-2015 school year. This year marks the 22nd year in which the NHSCA has honored those who triumph both in and out of the classroom.
“This year’s Academic All Americans are the epitome of what a student-athlete is. Not only do they excel on the playing field, mat, court, pool, or track, but they also excel in the classroom”, stated NHSCA Executive Director Bobby Ferraro. “These student-athletes are leaders in and out of the classroom and are the future leaders of tomorrow. We are proud to deem them Academic All Americans.”
Aryn Sanders (Tennessee) competes in the sports of Basketball, Volleyball and Track & Field for at Signal Mountain High School for Coach Kendra Bell. Aryn was a state champion in the 4 x 200 relay her freshman year and repeated as a state champion her sophomore year. She was named All State in basketball and volleyball her junior year. She has a current GPA of 3.8 and is ranked #21 in her class of 161 students.

  6. Linda, I am so thankful that the medicine is helping with your pain. Congrats to your granddaughter; I know you are so proud of her. Some days it is hard for me to watch tv; so much sadness/tragedy/evil. I always look forward to your header and today's is cute as can be with your blog post. Just in the past few days, I have been adding a signature photo at the end of my posts....sitting with my ankle propped up, I have lots of time! lol Have a good night and I hope you continue to rest soundly.

  7. That's wonderful that you're finally getting the proper med's. Before my last surgery, it was a daily trial just to function. My husband had to take over anything physical. I just couldn't do it anymore.
I enjoy the daily change-up on the blog. I used to change mine frequently but now I'm going through a black & white period. Goes along with my mood.
Congrats to Aryn again. She sure is a doer.
Hope your day continues on pleasantly. Luv ~:)

    1. Kris, she has visited many colleges, had invitations to see their facilities, coaches have come here to watch her play, etc. As of yet, she hasnt definitely decided, but Bucknell in Pa., and Wofford in SC are two she really liked. Who knows...she has one more year to decide. We just pray she stays healthy and maintains her grade point average.
