"BE STILL AND KNOW......................."

Most churches, or I should say, a lot of churches, do not have a Wednesday night service.  My Pastor brought a message last night and when Jim and I got in the car, we both said, almost at the same time, that message was 'right on' and can either be scary or a reminder.

The passage is 2 Timothy 3:2-7
lovers of their own selves
covetous
boasters
proud
blasphemers
disobedient to parents
unthankful
unholy
without natural affection
trucebreakers
false accusers
incontinent
fierce
despisers of those that are good
traitors
heady
highminded
lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

Are those things not the world today?  And get more so every single day we live on this earth.

In 2 Timothy 2:15 He tells us---------"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."  We have a hard job, but the end result with be the reward.

  1. 2 Tim. 2:15 is the motto for AWANA. Not many churches are doing that program anymore (we were the Commanders for the program). Agreeing with you...Sad to say, not many churches have Wed. night services anymore. Great post, Linda. Blessings

    1. My kids loved going to AWANA and it is sad they have done away with that. Such a good program for kids.

  2. It is certainly scary, and I agree that we need to prepare our souls and be ready!

  3. Our pastor teacher told us years ago we needed to learn more Bible Doctrine because the United States was going down hill fast and would be a very scary place. So glad I took his word to heart.' because every thing he said is coming true and fast.

  4. I have been without internet today so I am late! Your Pastor had a very good sermon. I have never seen such times as we are living in currently. I have been reading a very good, easy-read devotional book by Charles Stanley, The Power Of The Cross. I wish that young people just graduating could get a copy to read and live by.
We have had rain on and off today. I drove John to a dr. appt. this a.m. and we rewarded ourselves with breakfast at Cracker Barrel. lol
    God bless your evening.
