WHAT WOULD YOU ADD TO THE LIST????

My # 10 would be to GIVE MORE.  Give of my time, and efforts, to those around me that seem to need it. So many people these days need something....sometimes they don't even know what that would be.  If we could be more aware of those around us, close to us, that we see almost every day, we would know what they need.

A kind word; a hug; a smile; ask a question that would lend help.

I told you yesterday I don't have many talents that one could see.  But I do have the gift of encouragement and if nothing else, I can do that for someone.  I am a big letter writer.

I have written the President over the years; I write to corporations with things that I like about their company or a good deed that one of their employees has done.

I use CVS as my pharmacy and I write their general offices on a regular basis.  From the front door to the back of the store where their pharmacy is located, it is almost perfect.  They know me; they always say hello, may I help you, and have a good day. The workers in the pharmacy know me by name, and go above and beyond to help me with anything they can. The store manager is so friendly and finds me in the store to say hello.  Why wouldn't I write about these things.  I write and the district manager shows them what I told the corporation.

At church, I try to pick someone I see that might need an encouraging word and go to them.  I either tell them how nice they look, or how glad I am that they are there today. You can always find 'something' to encourage someone.

Now, tell me what your #10 would be.

  2. I don't know what my #10 would be at the moment but that is something healthy to ponder. I like to encourage others too. My husband calls me a Muse. Kindness is one of the greatest gifts we can give others. There's enough cruelty in the world already. Hope your day is blessed with kindness, joy and is pain free. Luv ~:)

  4. What a beautiful post, Linda - very thought provoking indeed. This goes along with what I have been thinking about lately and I think my #10 would be to make some kind of contact with far away friends at least once each month.

  8. Such a sweet post, Linda. How kind of you to take the time to tell corporate about the good service you receive at the local pharmacy. Like you, I feel like I have the gift of compassion. I have been caregiver for many family members over the years and I seem to see immediately when someone out in public "needs" help. I pray each morning that I can be a blessing to someone in need. Like you say, it may only be a smile or an encouraging word. God bless your evening. Praying for you and yours.

  9. I love this list and the question you asked. I'm thinking Be Kind! If everyone would show a little more kindness to those around them, we would be better off. Your letter writing is such a gift, and a kindness in itself! I should follow your example.

  10. I think my #10 would be to smile more. Sometimes it just takes a smile to make someone's day. And a smile doesn't cost any money either, just the use of some facial muscles.

  11. Be more patient. I tend to be impatient and I am a work in progress on patience. Wishes for a bright spring day tomorrow!
