I was cleaning out dresser drawers yesterday and found some pictures of when I was still working as an RN at a big local hospital. I worked in an eye center within the hospital, and we had our own surgery and post-op floor. It was a speciality unit. The nurses shown all worked together and we had good relationships on all 3 shifts, mainly because we had a super head nurse. She was very picky when hiring. Yes, we worked 7-3, 3-11 & 11-7. I worked all three shifts now and then but my regular was 3-11. I worked 10 days on and 4 off. The two doctors shown were 2 of our favorites and are retina specialists.
I worked during the days of white uniforms and caps. As things drifted to 'scrubs' of many colors, we maintained our uniform( those without uniforms in the pictures were not on the job). The doctors seemed to like knowing who was a nurse and who was working in some other capacity. Now you can't tell who is who, or I find it to be true in our hospitals. See my red glasses on my head? I had a red car at that time too....flashy huh?
