RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY.......

I woke up sometime during the night to the rain beating on the tin roof. There was no thunder or lightning, so it was like rocking me back to sleep. I love that kind of rain, but now it is daylight and I want sunshine, not rain.  But what I want doesn't really matter, because God is going to give us what we need, not what we always want.

The Sunday School class meeting was so much fun.  I am in an all ladies class and we are all around the same age, except our teacher, and she is a youngster - 60!  She gave the devotion.....John 16:33 - "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."  This was so timely because it is her husband that has been diagnosed with cancer.  We discussed what peace meant to each of us, and how the Lord carries us through.

Our food was wonderful - ham, potato salad, cole slaw, deviled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans and hot rolls.  Dessert to top it all off was strawberry shortcake with whipped cream, pecan pie, crunch pound cake and some cinnamon biscuits with their special icing.  I came home stuffed!

Today will be a day of rest.  No errands, no meetings, just rest.

It is sad that the teacher's husband is suffering from cancer. I pray that God will give His wisdom to the doctor's that they may heal him soon.
It's been raining and overcast a lot here too. 'Suppose to be piles more rain tomorrow. *sigh* Well, we need it. I do miss the sunshine though.
    Luv ~:)

  4. Ohh that food list makes me hungry. I am so glad you had a good time! It stormed here last night, and now the high is only 62*--yesterday it was like 74-78*. Pleasant though, not complaining. Blessings
