I am not a person who is afraid of this day.  In fact, it is a very special day to us. Our oldest daughter was born on a Friday, the 13th.  It was not March, but August, but it is still special to us.  Are you superstitious?

Our oldest granddaughter's birthday is St. Patrick's Day, but the family is all gathering tonight at her favorite Japanese restaurant to celebrate.  We really enjoy going there as we always have a private room. Pictures to follow.....I hope!  lol

We have two weddings coming up for people in our church, so I got gift cards and have them ready to give to them on their special day.  I also purchased 3 pair of 'reader' glasses.  They were a set and I couldn't pass that up!  I also purchased a sweater that was on sale and I had to buy it.  This is a good time of the year to find some winter clothes at good prices.

That is my news for today.  Have a good weekend.

(Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.)

  1. My sister was born on Friday the 13th. : )
And please post pictures of the Japanese restaurant!
Peyton would love them! : )
    Have fun!

  2. Beautiful you plan on wearing to the weddings?

  3. Nice new sweater! I'm sure the gift cards will go over well.

  4. I love weddings:) Sounds like you all will be eating a yummy dinner tonight! Japanese is one of my favorites! Enjoy your time with the family dear friend, HUGS!

  5. Your new sweater is so pretty! It seems to have a shimmer to it :)

  6. Love the sweater, great --love the gift cards idea. I sure hope you post pictures of your family outing! Blessings

  7. Was it the 13th? Gee, I didn't notice ... *lol* Nope, not superstitious. Every day is the same, even Sunday's.
Very nice sweater. It's so warm here that we've put away the coats for the season. Guess warm(ish) weather is here to stay for awhile.
My 'readers' are 1.75+. That power seems to work best for me.
Can't wait to see the photos! Hope the weddings go as planned.
    Luv ~:)

  8. Hope you have a great time celebrating tonight. I went looking for a pair of snow boots to put away for next year this week. No boots, but lots of sandals. I found "readers" for 1.69 (!) at the discount store and they're great. I should have gotten several pairs, but I never know if they will hold up.

  9. No superstitions here either.
I like the sweater especially if it was a deal!
Hope you had a great time at the restaurant.

  10. That is a lovely sweater, Linda! One of my favorite colors! Gift cards are the best way to go for gifts these days. Can't wait to hear about the birthday celebration!
