TRUE!!!

After being house bound for a week or so, my snapdragon is about to 'snap'!  I did go out yesterday when the sun was shining and it looked like we might have a few just cold, no snow or ice, days.  NO.  About sundown it started.  It snowed and snowed and snowed some more.....maybe 1 or 2 inches, and as it got colder, it was there all night.  I looked out first thing this morning, and still there, with very grey skies.  It is supposed to warm up and rain, so if that comes true, our snow will leave almost as fast as it came.

My oldest daughter, Leigh, and her family went down the mountain to eat last night and it had started before they got back home.  She text'd and said the cars were at a standstill, and piled up on the sides of the road. Going slow they finally made it up and to their house. There are places going up that road that has no shoulder and in bad weather, it is scary.  As you can see in the picture below, you can either slide into the side of the mountain on the right, or fall off on the right.

We have been so fortunate not to lose power.  Living in the south, without much snow at all, we aren't prepared and everybody goes nuts!  The water freezes, the heat goes off, or you get out on the roads and have a wreck. The mountains surrounding us add to the problems.

Who remembers some of these----------brought back good memories!

GOD BLESS US EVERYONE AND KEEP US SAFE!

  1. Well...I sure can tell you, as cold and windy as it has been here (and not to mention snow--which is snowing right now) we have not lost power...I guess NY is prepared for it. I guess if we lived in the country, it would be different. I sure remember driving those roads of yours. Stay warm, my friend...no plans of going anywhere today and I am happy for that, as a matter of fact, I am still in pj's and Heaven forbid we get company, wink. Blessings

  4. God bless you today dear Linda! My Nephew, his wife and family came thru some treacherous roads to get here from Kentucky for the baby shower! I don't like driving on the mountain roads ON A GOOD DAY:) You won't find me there when the roads are bad! Enjoy your Sunday, my friend! HUGS!

  6. This has been a winter and a half to be sure. It is funny, though, because all the "global warming" nuts like the pope, Al Gore, and O'blamer keep saying the opposite. There's an upside to everything.
    Y'all stay safe up there.
    Luv ~:)

  7. Last week we had temps in the 40s and 50s and then yesterday it was cold with freezing rain. I'm really looking forward to spring and summer!
