IT'S A NEW DAY!

I know we don't see one another, and only know each other by what we post in our blogs. From yesterday, when you all made sweet comments, I believe we do know one another more than most. Thank you.

We didn't go to Aryn's basketball game, but they did win big...65-33 and she scored 24 points.  Their team is now leading in their district.

My daughter, Jennifer, sent me several pictures that her oldest daughter, Caroline, made.  She is 9 years old and in the third grade. She loves her art classes and looks like she is making progress.

Jennifer had an interest as well, and we have a few of her paintings on the wall also.  She painted this scene because she knew how much I loved mountains.

I think it runs in our family.  I also have several pictures that my Aunt painted, some going back to 1929 and these were painted on wood.

Please understand (Terri...lol) that none of these 3 people ever had any lessons and strictly did it on their own, because they enjoyed doing it.

So, that is my news for this Saturday.  Hope you will have a good day and weekend.

GOD BLESS US EVERYONE

  3. Linda, the art museum where I work, is a contemporary art museum. We rarely have lovely landscapes and photo-like paintings on the walls. We DO have a student gallery, and Caroline's work is certainly comparable to other art students in her age group. She is doing great work!! I love that Jennifer and your aunt have such a great creative outlet (like me!) and paint what they see. Lovely keepsakes. I have two of my mom's paintings on the walls, here, and she loved painting after she retired. "Untrained" artists are some of the best...Google Outsider Artists, Folk Artists, or Highwaymen and you will see some amazing art by "untrained" artists. Congrats, again, to Aryn and her team! Have a good Saturday!

  5. Enjoyed all of your family artwork. We had a snowy day and I stayed in and caught up on lots of house things. Wish I had thought to get some ice cream for tonight :(.

  6. We are all friends, I can feel it too.
My goodness, your Aunt was VERY talented! I like those paintings. Perhaps Jennifer will follow in her footsteps. My step mother was a talented oil canvas painter. I guess she was "outsider art" too.
    Congrats to Aryn.
Hope you and hubby are well. Prayers continued from here. Luv ~:)
