Good Sunday morning!

So happy to be able to go back to church this morning.  Jim said he would have to wait until he woke up to see if he was able to go.  I miss it so much when I can't go. Hearing God's Word is my way to get through the upcoming week.

We had a good day yesterday, even though it rained all day and by evening we had thunder storms.  Weird in the winter, but the weather all over the country has been weird this year.  We took a ride to our middle daughter's house to return some clothes she had given me, when we had the fall last week.  She wasn't there but her husband and two precious little girls were, so mission accomplished.

We took the long way home just to see different sights.  It took longer than usual and by the time we got here, I was exhausted.  How can one that sits and rides become so tired?  Jim said it was the anxiety of driving in the rain....possibly.

About as soon as we got in the house, we had visitors.  A cousin of Jim's, who lives in Rhode Island, her son and daughter in law, who live in Huntsville, Alabama, and their precious 3 month old daughter came to see us.  We get to see them maybe once a year, so we put our being tired aside and enjoyed visiting. They stayed for a long time, so after they left, we had a snack and went to bed really early.

My oldest granddaughter and her parents went to visit another college.  From now until next fall, they will be going around the country visiting different schools to see which one she prefers to attend.

My son and his wife both had to work, so we didn't get to see them at all.

......Life Lessons.....
Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.
Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

  2. It is such a delight to meet with other believers in the fellowship of church. We love to take "the long way home" too, but a long car ride does make me tired :)

  3. There's not many choices but we do a change up on scenery sometimes too. Get so tired of always driving into Blackshear or wherever the same way. I do pretty good on car rides. It takes about 8 hours before I get slap happy.
I'll bet you're right about the problems in a pile. I don't think I'd care to have anyone else's. It's a case of better the devil we know, kinda deal. *lol*
    Luv ~:)

  4. I'm making every effort never to complain about aging. The alternative isn't what I would pick. We had a spring-like day today and I was so grateful to be outside and walking. Wishes for a good week.

  5. So now I'm catching up on your posts!! How nice that your friends came by, but I'm sorry you were both so worn out from your long-way-home ride. Getting older is a privilege that many don't get to experience! I can stand the aches and pains....reminds me how lucky I am!! Praise God!
