NOW HERE'S A STORY------

A wonderful, wonderful time was had by our family yesterday.  The food was good, the laughter was good, and being altogether meant thankfulness.  At our age (mine and Jim's) we never know if we will be here next year.

BUT - we almost had a tragedy.  We arrived at my daughter's house, and she and one of our son in laws came out to greet us and help Jim get up the steps to the porch.  I was behind him in case he fell back, and lo and behold, he did.  He fell on top of me, knocking me to the ground.  I hit my head so hard they said they heard it hit.  My glasses flew in one direction and a shoe in the other.  I couldn't get up, so they had to pull me up to my feet.  Jim hit the side of the house and had scraps and scratches on his arm and shoulder.  We have laughed and said I would walk behind him in case he fell, then he would have a soft landing!   That statement finally came true.  Other than a knot the size of a golf ball on my head and swelling down my neck to my shoulder, I am OK.  Again, we both laughed and said we sure had good bones!  Nothing broken.

I am sorry to say, I didn't take any pictures.  I was a little 'loopy' and sat most of the time.  If and when any of my children post any pictures, I will share here.  All in all though, it was a very special day.

  4. I walk behind my husband too in case he should fall. Now I'm not so sure that is a good idea! Linda, I am so glad you were not seriously hurt and no broken bones. But I am so sorry to hear about this. Hope the knot on your head goes down quickly and your husband's scrapes and bumps heal also. I'll be praying for you.

  6. Oh, Linda! I felt pain just reading this. It's good nothing was broken, but do you think you got a concussion? You know what to watch for, so take care and hope you recover fast.
