BUSY DAY

We have a busy day ahead of us.  First this morning, Jim has to be at the Heart Center for a Coumadin check.  For those that do not take that medication, it is to keep the blood thin, and in Jim's case, prevent him from having stroke, heart attack, etc.  He has to be monitored once a month and the medicine is then either up'd or down'd or left alone!

Back home and pay bills.  ugh

This evening at 6, Aryn's basketball team plays a private school near us and we are going to that.  Our son graduated from the opposing school and he played basketball there too.

That may not seem like a very busy day to you, but everything we do is on double slow time, because Jim cannot walk fast, get in and out of the car fast, or really do anything fast. Ms. 'OCD' here runs on full steam and it is hard for me to slow down to his pace.  We make it tho!!

If you have a prayer list, would you please include Jim. His memory, sight, hearing and mobility are all slowly going down.  I learned so much when I was taking care of an aunt several years ago.  You cannot argue or continuously correct someone who cannot help what he/she says or does.  Just be kind and patient.  I am his eyes, ears, and driver.

and reach for our Bibles,
where the story of the Christ child awaits us.”

    1. No, didnt see Graham but wish I had. Jim has a.fib. He went off coumadin and started with Xrealto, but it got so expensive, we had to go back to coumadin. I wish an aspirin would work for him....lots easier for sure. Have a good 'no school' day my friend.

My father used to take that medicine...
    I remember the checks!
And you are so wise in your approach to his care...
    You are exactly right...
Have a great night at the ball game!

  5. Jim is in my prayers as are you. I wonder what we would have thought if, as we were walking to Sevier Park or sitting in your front yard, we had been told that many years later we would be talking about grandchildren and health issues? I wouldn't have believed it!

  6. My step-father used to take that medicine so I am very familiar with it. My husband moves slowly also and sometimes it is so frustrating to me. But he really can't help it. He used to be so much faster than I. Jim and you are in my prayers.

  8. Coumadin can be difficult to manage. Hope Jims blood work turns out with it at a good level. I will pray for Jim (and you)!

  10. My husband is getting slower and slower too, while I'm "OCD" also. I have to slow myself down so he won't injure himself trying to keep up. *lol* I try to always pray for y'all.
I have a dear friend who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Please pray for her? She is 60+ and has no insurance (who does thanks to O and his supporters, right?!). Anyway, Vicki is strong in the Lord but still frightened. Thanks so much.
Sorry I haven't commented much. Blogger is being weird and kicking me out sometimes. I'll see if this one makes it.
    Luv ~:)
