When at night you cannot sleep, talk to the Shepherd and stop counting sheep.

I have found as I grow older, I pray more....morning, noon and night and sometimes in between.  I probably am studying for that 'final exam'.  I believe in the power of prayer and have experienced it many times in my life.

Those of you who are on Facebook and we are friends there, will have already seen this, but some have not.

There is a new family in our church and they moved here from Florida.  They have 3 children, a girl and two boys.  Matt is the youngest and from day one, he and I have been buddies.  Before church starts he is looking for me.  He comes and hugs me and we tease each other.  He moved to middle school this year and as my Grayce did too, I can tease him about some of the same things I do her.

When school started this year, I told him since he was growing up so fast, if he wanted to shake hands instead of hugging, I understood.  They go through a phase where they want to look grown up.  He said 'no, I will still hug you'!  So, last night before church service started, (he sits up front with his parents, and Jim and I sit in the back) he came running to me, and handed me this rose.
I was surprised to say the least!  We hugged and I told him to remember how much this flower meant to me, and to be sure and give them to his wife some day too.

Kids can always amaze you and I am thankful for ones like my buddy Matt.

  7. Sounds like an adorable young man. Well my drink is waiting me, so far, I'm almost half done with the stuff, then I have to get up early tomorrow morning to finish it before the procedure. It makes me cold drinking it, once I get half of it down, going to make myself a cup of tea with honey. Have a good nights rest and sleep.

  9. It appears that your 'young man' is being raised right!! How wonderful. Hugs are so special. I'm sure he can see your generous and kind spirit by just looking at your lovely face. He gets the same love that you feel from him, Linda. What a sweet connection!!
