The week is half gone and the month is nearly over.  I think the older I get, the faster time goes by.  Where it used to take me half a day to wash the front porch, do 2-3 loads of washing, clean the kitchen and cook meals, it now takes me nearly a week to do all of it.  I have yet to find the gold in the 'golden years'.

Aryn's volleyball team won last night and Jim was able to go and seemed to enjoy it.  I pray it will last for him.

Sausage Muffins! 1 cup of Bisquick, 1 lb cooked sausage, 4 eggs beaten, & 1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese. 350 degrees 20 minutes. YUM! Great for a cold night! Or
morning breakfast!

John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

From the garden....

Sugar Baby
We had never grown watermelons before and we have a 'bumper crop' this time around.  We have the big ones and the small ones, called Sugar Babies.  Juicy and really as sweet as sugar.  We cut one of the small ones, and that is a meal for Jim and me!  lol

  1. Good morning, sounds like the week has been going pretty good for the 2 of you. Hope it continues. I wan to save the recipe and try it later, when it's cooler and I don't mind having the oven going. I know what you mean about the golden years. I to use to be able to do so many things before I would leave for work around 1:30 in the afternoon, get home around 10:30 and still do up a load or two of laundry. Now it takes me half a morning to do up a few breakfast dishes and turn around in the kitchen. And if we have a doctor's appointment, forget it, that about wipes me out. LOL Watermelon sounds delicious. But like so many fresh items like that, if I eat it, I have to stay pretty close to home, just never know how my systems is going to react. Here it is almost 11:30, and all I have done is sweep, the acorns off the patio, again, fixed breakfast and did up the dishes, have a load of clothes in the dryer. Now Abe has decided to take the ladder out front to check on a gutter to see what might be in the corner, I sometimes wonder why we have the gutters up there, rain still spills out and Abe's been known to punch a few small holes in them to let water get to the shrubs up close to the house. I better go check on him, he may be laying on the ground.

  2. So glad you both were able to go to Aryn's game. Congrats to the team. I certainly know what you mean about not being able to get everything done in one day like we used to. And that silly laundry basket!!! I know the clothes lay there all night and multiply!
We love fresh watermelon. But like Patty said, I need to stay close to the bathroom. And NEVER eat any of it after 5:00PM!! Oh, no!
Hope you both have a great evening. Take care.

  3. Congrats to Aryn and her team!! Great news and a good start to the season! So happy to hear Jim felt like going!! That watermelon looks delicious!! Did Murphy raise any yellow watermelon? My dad always planted yellow melons, too. Haven't had any in years (and years and years!).

  4. Yay for Aryn and the team!
I agree about time going faster all the time, it's happening to me too. Your watermelon sounds so good!

  5. This recipe sounds great. I'm going to save it to make for Fellowship Hour at church in a couple of weeks.
