COME ON GRANDMA - MOVE OVER!

Have you ever been in a hurry to get someplace and you got behind an elderly person?  Do you honk the horn or do you wait patiently for he/she to move on so that you can pass them?  I have.  I have been impatient, have talked out loud to the person, but I don't blow the horn.  It used to aggravate me to no end. Guess what? I am now that old lady and understand that form of driving more.  I don't like driving on the interstate - there are entirely too many big trucks zooming by. I prefer driving on the city streets now because I can take my time.  In other words, I never thought I would be that 'old lady from Pasadena', but I sure am!

Jim is doing 100% better as of yesterday.  He was able to eat a little and said he had no pain, for which I am very, very thankful.  Me, I am OK.

We have no plans for the weekend as usual.  We may end up babysitting this afternoon but haven't been asked yet.  Murphy works tonight and Stacy (his wife) is usually late getting home.

The elderly don't drive that badly;
they're just the only ones with time to do the speed limit.

  1. I must admit that I've been impatient, but I don't honk or tailgate. I pass when I can! It won't be long till that's me. :)
    Glad Jim is doing better!

  2. Oh, I can relate to that. I'm now that senior citizen. I'm also the one on the highway that actually obeys the speed limits. When I get behind "Grandma" I don't lose it... I stay behind her till I can pass, but if she's doing the speed limit there's no reason to pass her. My hubby, however, scares me. He tailgates. It frustrates me so much. I'm always telling him to stop that, or slow down.
    I'm glad Jim is feeling better. Hope you both have a great weekend.

  3. It's not the old people here, it's the young people and the people in their 20-30's, I guess their mamas didn't raise them right. No manners..everything that comes out of their mouths is filth.--- Glad Jim is feeling better. Blessings

  4. Oh, Linda. I turn into my dad behind the wheel. Mild mannered and patient turns into impatient sailor behind the wheel. Joe just laughs at me now, but I have a reputation. Not proud of it, mind you, and I try. I really do. It's not just little old ladies..anyone not going fast enough or not moving when the light turns green. I'm terrible. Sigh.

    So glad to hear Jim is doing so well! I have to clean this weekend. I havent' cleaned in three weeks. Cat hair and dust everywhere. Sigh, again!

  5. I am very patient when it comes to elderly people on the road. My dad and father in-law were on the road and I know they probably ticked off some drivers but people just need to chill out. We are all going to be in their spot one day. I'm so happy to hear Jim is better! Enjoy your weekend, Linda!
