My parents divorced when I was 3 and my Mom and I moved from Texas, back to Tennessee.  I never saw nor heard from my Dad again until the day he died. I received a telephone call and the caller said, 'hi, is this Linda? And then, he said, I am your brother and our Dad just died.'  I never knew I had a brother and also a sister, who died when she was 32.  But by this time, my Mom had died and I couldn't ask for information on my Dad.

Suffice it say, we met and kept in touch for a long time, and then all of a sudden, he vanished out of sight, and try as I might, I couldn't locate him.

So, I didn't tell you this for pity, just to let you know that your Dad is important in your life, and be sure and tell him today if possible.

I do wish my Jim a Happy Father's Day, because he was and is a very good Dad to our three children. They love him and show it all the time.

I am very happy to say that my two daughters have wonderful husbands and Dads, and my son is a wonderful Father to his children too!  I am proud of all of them.

Church this morning, but Jim doesn't feel well enough to go.  His procedure is due this coming Wednesday, so maybe after that, he will have less pain and can do more.

  2. Happy Father's Day to Jim. I pray his procedure goes well and he can be pain free.

So sorry your family so disconnected. That truly is tragic. I left my adopted family ASAP (too mean, hateful & plain weird) and am now enjoying the biological one. More than likely, your brother passed away. Look for him in the SSDI (Social Security Death Index) or just "google" his name. It's amazing what one can learn just from those two sources. Holler if I can help.

God bless you all this beautiful Sunday morning. ~:)

  3. Thanks for sharing with us, Linda. I'm sorry you didn't know your dad. I know how blessed I was to have a great dad in my life. Happy Father's Day to Jim, and I hope the procedure helps with the pain. If you want to email me your brother's name, I can do a quick search on Ancestry.com for you. The more information you can give me, the easier the search will be. Just let me know if you want me to try.

  5. It's so sad when men do this, because not only do kids need Dads; those Dad's don't know what they're missing out on.
    Hope Jim's procedure goes well!
