SUPER SATURDAY!

Please raise your hand if you wear any of the shoes shown above.  I died laughing when I put myself in even one of them.  As short and fat as I am, I would be leaning forward and eventually fall face down!  I know I am old, and out of style, but why in the round world would anybody really want to wear something like that.  Maybe New York or Hollywood, but surely not down in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Good Saturday morning to all.  Looks like another nice summer day, hot as can be, bugs biting and enjoying their meals, and me staying in the AC and enjoying my new Keurig coffee maker.

Jim and I both got good reports from our doctor. He (the doc, not Jim..lol) is a gem, to be sure. We have been going to him for years and years and he knows us, and we know him.  None of Jim's meds were changed and I had one added.

Not sure if you will understand, but bare with me. I am not trying to have a pity party, but I seem to have a lot on me these days.  Jim has to have many things taken care of by me, as he cant do things as well any more.  The state of this country, our financial situation, etc., etc. are also contributing factors.  I lately, have had a feeling of tightening inside, like I cant do this type thing, although appearing on the outside, just fine and dandy.  I talked to my doctor about these things, and he totally understood, treating Jim as well as me.  I said all that to say, he prescribed a medication that he hopes will calm me inside and level my feelings so that I can remain the caretaker.  He said I had to take care of me first, in order to take care of Jim and the other things.

Now, go out and play!

  3. I totally understand, my friend.
My mother went through the exact same thing with my father.
Being the caretaker is physically and emotionally difficult and stressful.
You want to care for your loved one...you are sad as he struggles and is in pain...but your body can only handle so much itself...
My mother was on your same shoes...
    Please take care of you.....
    Hugs!

  4. Linda... I completely understand the feelings you're having and the pressure on you and your well being. I took care of my mother before she died. She lived with us. It was very stressful. I wondered how I was able to crawl out of bed all those mornings. It was only because she, and my husband and children, needed me to be there for them. I hope the new med helps you. God bless.

  5. Never feel ashamed that you have to take care of yourself as well. It's not weakness on your part. Being a caregiver is very stressful. I've done it on a limited basis when my husband was recovering from so many surgeries. Poor man has been under the knife no less than 7 times, all in a short period of time. I pray that the medication will calm the fears inside. Just remember, Timothy was told to drink a little wine to cope with his problems. ("Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses." Timothy 5:23) I guarantee that the poor man was having anxiety attacks. Life is very hard and we're human. Only Jesus is perfect.
Prayers for you all today. God bless. ~:)

  7. You sure do need to take care of yourself, if you are taking care of Jim. Don't feel bad about asking for something, it's much worse when people try to tough it out and end up with more trouble.
Those shoes are horrific! They make feet look more like hooves! :)

  8. Honey, this 53 year old can't even stand in heels half that high! I'll just continue on with my short and stocky 5'2'' self. Yes, you must take care of yourself. At best, life is hard and emotions are real. You'll feel better and be able to take care of him if you take care of yourself first. Hope you will feel better soon. Bonnie

  9. Adding my support here, Linda. Your doctor is taking good care of you, and knows you take good care of Jim. The meds are a good thing.

As for those shoes.... Oh my goodness!!
