Fffffffriday!

This has been the longest week for some reason.  We haven't done all that much, but I thought the weekend would never get here.

We made the trip to the cemetery and Jim was able to see the tombstones of all of his relatives, especially his parents and sister.

This cemetery doesn't have all the 'weird' tombstones, but they do decorate the area around them.  Jim is very family oriented and just going there and seeing the stones, makes him feel very connected.  I had a small family and they are all gone, and buried in Nashville.  It is not my 'thing', but at 83, it is the least I can do for him.

After leaving the cemetery, we had to ride around the country side and he told me who owned this and that, and how he was related to each one.  They were good, solid country folk who made it through hard times.

Have you received notice of or have you researched the new Windows 10?  I uploaded it this morning, and so far, no problems and similar to 8.1, which is what I had.  I haven't been through it all, but like it for now.  Let me know if you have any troubles with it.

My hint for today:

My cat picture for today:

  2. I'm glad your trip went well. My parents are buried at Harpeth Valley in Nashville. Enjoy your weekend and I hope you will get to see Jesse and Ravyn.

  3. I'm not much of one to go to the cemetery but my husband Joe goes pretty regularly to his mom and brother's graves. It's important to him. Glad you had a safe trip and your husband was able to see his family connections.

  4. Oh, gosh! I didn't even know there was a Windows 10! Let us know how it works. I hate change and stick with what I have until it becomes obsolete. I'm glad you were able to take your husband to see the graves of his family. I guess I'm like you. Out of respect, I may visit Alan's grave but he's not there. He's in heaven having the time of his life, all healed. So I look forward to seeing him again there. Have a wonderful weekend!

As I get older and older change makes me (not happy)!!

  6. Hi Linda, Glad you two made the trip safely and that Jim was satisfied with seeing the cemetery and surrounding countryside. I'm sure it was comforting to him reminiscing about folks. Hope you both have a nice afternoon.

  7. I was thinking about you and happy to see you posted, smiles. Yes, friend, I downloaded 10---there are some quirks, like you can't have Google Toolbar/Bookmarks...however, there are ways around that.

Cemeteries are not my thing, either...I go with hubby to keep up the gravesites of his father and grandparents and also know where he wants to be buried. I am glad your trip went well.

    Blessings, Linda

  8. After Simply Linda downloaded Win10 and lost all the Google bookmarks, I said "Nope, not gonna do it." When it comes to technology I'm an old fogey. *lol*
I like visiting cemeteries and learning family history. I grew up with little to no family. It's a big thrill for me to learn who everybody was through research. Glad y'all are back all safe and sound.
Hope your evening is blessed! ~:)

    1. I am not sure what you and Linda mean when you say you cant get the google bookmarks. I have all of my bookmarks just like before. I think I am going to really like #10.

  9. Glad the trip went well. The cemetery where my Mom is buried is that way for me. I can walk around it and see the stones of so many people I knew.
I uploaded 10 today too and haven't found any problems yet.

  11. Glad you had a safe trip to and from the cemetery. And also found a good place to eat along the way

Abe has Windows 10 on his PC. He said it's nice. He also has a Mac and so do I. It took me a while to learn how to use it, but I wouldn't want a PC again.

I also have my iPad, but don't really know all the if's, and's and but's about it. But I use it to play games on. I can also use my e-mail and watch TV shows on it. I like the old Game Show Network and the Hallmark stations, since I can't get them on my TV. Abe gets them on his, but I wasn't going to pay extra to have another box, especially after I found out, because he has it, I can pick them up on my iPad by having the TWC App.

I bet you both sleep well after that trip.

  12. The cat picture made me giggle! So cute! Good hint, too! Glad Jim enjoyed the trip to the cemetery. Our techie guy told us (at work) to not download Windows 10 for a couple of weeks, so I've been waiting. It keeps popping up on my computer, though....
