YESTERDAY IS GONE!

Yesterday with the Sunday School Class, didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped. We didn't go to the 'Farmers Daughter Restaurant' after all.  A member of the class just insisted we go to a buffet style restaurant across town, which we did.

We did have fun, but for me, the food wasn't very good.  Our Pastor's Mother went with us and gave the devotion.  She is as precious as anyone you would ever hope to know.  We all laughed and told her that we knew now why we loved our Pastor so much.....he was just like his Mother!

Today is another event for my church.  It is the annual Ladies Banquet.  At last count, there were 137 ladies attending. The food is catered.

The speaker today is Kelly Jo Bates.  You may have seen the family,'Bringing Up Bates' on TLC (the learning channel).
From their blog.............
"We fail often. We’re humbled more often than we’d like to be, and we find that we’re often wrong more than we are right. However, the children’s song He’s Still Working on Me to Make Me What I Ought to Be teaches us to set our eyes on Him rather than on ourselves and our accomplishment."

I know there is no way I could have had nor handled that many children, but it is not for me to judge. And yes, she gave birth to all of them! Kelly Jo is bringing several of her daughters to join us today, and I am looking forward to hearing her speak, and them sing for us.
Gil and Kelly Jo have been married 27 years and he is the Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in East Tennessee and also owns a tree company.

If you would like to see or know more, check out their blog:  http://www.batesfamilyblog.com/

Whatever your day brings, enjoy.  We are not promised tomorrow.

  5. I'm glad someone can handle all those kids. I think it's wonderful. Wish I could have had at least one. Too bad you didn't get to eat at the Farmer's Daughter. I hope you can plan another trip. Anyway, thanks for taking us along on the journey. Luv ~:)

  7. Sorry for your disappointment with the restaurant. I would have been disappointed too. I'm sure the fellowship was good, though.
