I got a good report at the eye center and only have to go back in one month for last check.

Spotty is home!

The vet said she was most definitely ready to be at home.  She had walked around and cried all morning.  When I opened the carrier, she shot out like a bullet and she and Cali reunited.  She is much more loving and quiet.  She climbed up in my lap and took a nap, and she didn't do that before.  I know she may still feel drowsy, and the vet even sent her pain medicine home with her and told me to give if I suspected pain.  I did give her one last night, and may need to again this morning.  She got up, ate, drank, and is on my bed asleep.  Cali is wandering around as usual.

No plans for us today.  Love having a day 'off'.  I thought when I retired, I would be bored and stay home all the time.  NOT.

The following is my opinion and my opinion only......

The title picture caught my attention when I saw it. From what is on television, to the movies being made (for the most part), from the clothes, and peer pressure, our girls get a bad example.  When I was growing up, I am sure there were clothes 'fads', movies that weren't so good for us, but we weren't allowed to go to see those, and our clothes HAD to be decent.  From where I sit now, it is 'anything goes' and it is important to look and act like others our age....NOT.  A perfect example is the people you see at Walmart.

I have been in church all of my life.  I even find that is different these days.  Some churches now think they have to 'entertain' young people, to get them to come to church.  I may be wrong, but I thought people gathered to study the Bible, worship God, pray and help others.  I have seen signs on the buildings, and on TV and the net, that show rock type bands, dress code - anything, and advertisements trying to get young people to come. My Pastor has said several times, that there is nothing wrong with watching the 'Andy Griffith' show, but at church our focus should be on God, not watching a TV show.  It amazes me when I see some of the ads for going to worship.

Ok, that is my rant for today, but the cartoon title is pretty 'right on' these days!

Have a nice Friday.

  1. Boy, do I agree! Especially about how Church's seem to have lost their meaning. It seems that so many think that Church is the place for a big video screen and lots of drama. NOT! If I attend it's to learn more about God's Word and His will in our lives. Plus we're suppose to witness for Him so that other's may be saved. I've given up on church. I witness and study on my own.
So happy that Spotty is home. Hope she'll be OK with no more pain.
    Happy Spring Y'all! ~:)

  2. Yeppers, totally agree. What really bothers me how these young women (and even older women) have these huge tattoos (or even a tattoo) now. Ugh. And the mouths, my goodness. I know, it sounds prudish of me, there is nothing worse than hearing the F bomb out of a young ladies mouth--well...anyone's mouth for that matter.

Glad Spotty is home. Keeping you in prayer. Blessings

  6. Glad you got a good report and so happy Spotty is home. I know Cali is glad too. I am shocked by the way some folks dress in public. I agree, too, that some churches go to extremes to attract young folks. I want to let you know that our precious little dachshund Harriet passed away this a.m. She belonged to my late mom and was 14. Our hearts are sad but we are grateful for all the years we enjoyed her.
    God bless your weekend. Mildred

  8. I am flabbergasted frequently at the way kids dress these days, and conduct themselves. All respect is gone. It's very, very sad. Spotty is a lucky girl to have you!! Glad she is home and doing well. Also glad to hear your eye is fine!! Hooray!
