OUR GANG!

Are you old enough to remember the TV show 'The Little Rascals'?  It began, believe it or not, before I was born, but I do remember watching re-runs.
Each one of them had their own personality, but added to the 'gang' in every episode. The same is with us in Blogland.  That is what makes it fun and interesting.

Good Sunday morning.  I am 'up and at 'em' but Jim is still snoozing.  Church for us today and rest this afternoon for sure.  On Monday, we begin another week of Dr. appointments.  Monday, final eye exam for Jim.  Tuesday, regular check-up with cardiologist for him, Thursday, my first cataract removal and Friday, first check following surgery. Wednesday, we get a free day.  It will be busy, but it will be worth it all if it goes well.  We will be ready for spring and summer!

Jim was glad he went to the funeral of his cousin.  As it was in Alabama, he doesn't get to see many of the people that attended, sometimes years apart.  He has a very big family, but they are spread out.  He didn't stop telling me about the service, the people and what has happened in last years.  I know a funeral is not a joyful time, but knowing where the deceased is going and having known her all of his life, he enjoyed the day. One of his cousins drove him around where he grew up and he liked that as well.

Well, you know it is church for us this morning, so I had better 'get a move on' as we say!

GOD BLESS US EVERYONE

  1. Linda, I love the new looks you bring here everyday! ----I remember watching reruns of Our Gang, that was my favorite Sat. morning show to watch (and Shirley Temple). Funerals should be a celebration-we tease each other here, I want him to dance on my grave, hoop and holler. No sadness here, as I will be "home". Hope you have a lovely day, another winter storm is moving in later today here. Blessings

  2. Linda,
I've not heard of The Little Rascals tv show, but those children look just adorable! I hope all goes well for you and Jim this week. Hopefully you will have a nice day of rest on Wednesday. Thank you for sharing that definition on my blog post today. How thoughtful of you :)

  3. The small gang analogy is apropo. It really fits. This is a gang I enjoy being a part of. :)
The Little Rascals was taped before my time but I grew up with it too. Saturday's used to be wholesome TV like that for all of us. I dare not think what children watch nowadays.
I know what you mean about being happy during a funeral. I'm having a hard time feeling sad when a Christian passes too. After what I had happen to me, I know that "the other side" with Jesus is so wonderful. We should be joyful, not sad when our dear ones go first. We'll all be there one day together forever.
Your doctor and surgery schedule reminds me of what hubby and I went through a few short years ago. I know you'll be glad when all is said and done. You're going to love having perfect eyesight. It's great!
Prayers for you both to that your joy may be great and the bills be small.
    Luv ~:)

  4. Glad things went well for Jim. In cases like that a funeral is not as sad and it's a good time to catch up.

  6. So happy to hear Jim was able to get to the funeral and that it made for a good reunion (as funerals do). Hope you had a good day, Linda, and you and Jim are in my prayers for all the appointments this week!
