FUN CHANGES WITH AGE!

....but there is still fun.  Little things that I never thought about when I was younger, seem to be fun to me now.  What is fun to you? I love making memories and bet you do as well.

Anything done with my grandchildren, of course is fun. Spending time with my children is fun these days, because their time is busy elsewhere (their children, jobs, etc.).  It may seem odd to you, but going to church is fun for me. I learn something new every time, and our Pastor has a great sense of humor.  My Sunday School teacher is just the best....she is animated when she teaches and puts her whole heart into it.  When the bills are paid for another month and there is a little left over, trust me, that is fun!

Yesterday, News Years Day, was a quiet, slow day.  Jim made a lemon cake (4 layers mind you), and I made some beef stew and cornbread. We had already had our peas and greens the day before.  So we ate, napped, read our books, watched TV, and that was a fun day!

One of my daughters gave me two boxes of Dunkin Donuts K-cups for Christmas and I sure have been enjoying that in the mornings, and afternoon with a piece of that cake.

Today I have a few errands to run but it is supposed to be a rainy day and I don't want to be out in it for long. So, I will wish you a happy Friday and may God bless you in a special way today.

(we really do!)

  1. I love your background! We have running around to do as well today...snowing here..so that running around will be short. Blessings

  2. LOL - I love that last, and yes, we DO!! You are so right, Linda, in saying what is fun now probably seemed dull 10 years ago. It's pretty amazing, actually, how we can adapt and change and still have a blast! Be safe in that rainy weather! TGIF!

  5. Ooh. Lemon cake! I'll have a piece, please. I don't drink coffee, but I sure do love my K-cup of tea in the morning.

Take care, Linda, and have FUN!

  7. We had homemade chicken and noodles tonight. That lemon cake would make a nice addition. Wish I'd thought of it earlier! And I agree, having a few bucks left over at the end of the month is very sweet indeed.
    Y'all stay well. Luv ~:)
