KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS

We attended the 'Hoops For Hope' (benefits the cancer society) basketball tournament yesterday. The director of the local Cancer Society was there, and she was my Weight Watcher instructor a couple of years ago.  Somehow, we see each other maybe twice a year and always have to give one another a hug.  In our usual 'how are you' talks, she told me she had not had a very good year.  Her father had died this year and her mother was just diagnosed with breast cancer. My heart sunk.  It went out to her not like before, but with concern and care.  I said all that to say, no gifts are important without the presence of Christ.  I praise the Lord, this lady does know Christ and is leaning on Him these days.

We had a good time at the game, and Aryn's team won again....She scored 34 points and the newspaper wrote a nice little article -----(her last name is Sanders)
Final 69-38

The day’s best individual offensive performance was turned in by Sanders in the final game.
Sanders, who scored 24 points in the Lady Eagles’ 58-33 win over Chattanooga Christian on Friday, pumped in 14 first-quarter points against the Lady Rams, including two 3s.  She added eight points in the second and fourth quarters and had four in the third.
Sanders outscored the entire Tyner team in the first and third periods.
Signal Mountain’s Brooke Whitmire put up 11 of her 20 points in the second period.
Sanders and Whitmire combined for 17 field goals, 11-of-14 free throws and three 3s.
Stay with me if you can, basketball season won't last forever!
These are the people that either rode the
bus or walked and threw out candy in the parade.
Yesterday was a fun day all around.  The local Christmas parade was fun, the basketball game went 'our' way.  We enjoyed the dinner at our daughter's house so much.  A friend had made the Grinch wreath for her....so cute.

The children's program will be this morning at church and we are looking forward to that.  I pray you have a good day.

  4. I just whispered a prayer for your friend. It is heartening to know she also trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. I don't know how people get through life without Him to confide in. It must be very frightening for them. Well, may she be healed soon.
    Congrats to Ayrn.
The Grinch wreath is very clever. If we had a craft store close by I would start crafting again.
Hope your day is a blessed one!
    Luv ~:)

I'm so glad your friend knows the Lord. Don't know how we would make it without Him.

  6. A post full of good news, except for your friend's troubles, but it is good that she is a believer and is trusting in Christ to get her through these trying times. Prayers lifted for her and her mother!! Aryn is like the energizer bunny!!!
