CHILDREN - ARE A BLESSING - AT CHRISTMAS - ANYTIME!

We had a wonderful worship service yesterday morning.  The children had their special program.  There was one little girl on the front row that 'got' into the music. She had 'pigtails' and she would sway back and forth and hold her 'pigtails' straight out and jiggle them.  The children really did a good job singing....with 75 little ones, they were excellent and well behaved.
The Pastor read the Christmas story and every time he came to a part that had a song to match, the children would sing....example:  '....she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn' and they sang Away In A Manager.  What a joy and blessing the program was for all of us.
I found out over the weekend, that our middle daughter is hosting our annual Christmas breakfast at their house this year.  I knew nothing about that, and the reason I didn't, is because my son was bringing me home from my last epidural and suggested to me that we have it there, and I readily agreed and said that would be great!  I think I was still under the anesthesia!!!  The kids all got a laugh that Mom didnt remember. So, yes, we are having it there and it is a great help to Jim and me.

No plans today other than the usual.  Hope your Monday is good to you.

KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS

  2. How cute that little girl must have been. I love to see children's Christmas programs.

What a treat to go to someone else's house for Christmas breakfast. Funny the way it happened though.

    Have a great day, Linda!

  5. Your Christmas breakfast with family has always seemed like such a great idea, and even better this year, when you can go to your daughter's house. I think I remember that last year, they came to you but did all the cooking and clean up. Much easier to go to her house, instead. It is so great that your kids are all still close by, and you are able to participate in their lives as much as you do!

Kids ARE Christmas, and that is quite the group you have at your church!! I love their excitement!

I love the part about you forgetting where the Christmas breakfast was going to be. :)

  8. Sounds like Sunday worship was terrific. Hope your Monday was also great. We closed on my Mother's house today, so that's all taken care of. Sad to think this is the first time in 60 some years there will not be a Christmas in that house for the Custer's. Perhaps next year when the new owner gets it ready to rent.

  9. I love Christmas programs and I never missed one when my kids were growing up. Our first grandbaby will be born next March and I can NOT wait to do it all over again. :) Merry Christmas!

  10. I always love to watch the children's Christmas programs. They are so cute and always entertaining. I love the innocence in their faces. I too have thought your family Christmas breakfast was a great idea. That's sweet your daughter is hosting it this year. I know that's a big help. Each year it gets harder for me to host our whole family here for a dinner. It's so much work. You take care, my friend.
