HELLO THERE!

Just peeking in to see how you are today.  It is beautiful here, but a cold morning for us - 37 degrees.  Winter seems to be coming a little early this year...who knows whats to come.

We made it to the dentist yesterday and Jim had two teeth filled. After that we stopped to fill up the gas tank in the car @ 2.54 a gallon! Hooray!!! On to CVS to pick up prescription and home for the afternoon and evening.

Aryn hurt her hand/wrist week before last and the trainer at the school would not let her practice basketball until she got an x-ray this morning. I understand the trainer's 'train' of thought, but Aryn was a little upset. They begin their regular season next week, and they wanted to be sure she was ok to play.

Our church has an event every year called "Friend Day" and it is the same as a homecoming in some churches. We have a morning service and then go to the fellowship hall to eat and back in early afternoon for service.  No night service that day.  We all have to bring either 3 side dishes, or 2 sides and 1 dessert.  The church furnishes the hams and turkeys.

This is what I am going to prepare for one of my sides:

Cranberry Fluff
INGREDIENTS:
1 14-ounce can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple, drained
8 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed (see note below for alternative)
3 cups Mini Campfire® Marshmallows

DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, stir together cranberry sauce and crushed pineapple. Fold in whipped topping until thoroughly combined. Stir in Mini Campfire® Marshmallows. Cover and chill for at least two hours before serving.

You know me....anything easy is my friend!

Have a great Saturday.

  1. Good morning, LInda! The recipe you are making for church sounds so good! I am going to make it for Thanksgiving. Sorry to hear about Aryn hurting her wrist. I hope the xray comes back good this morning! It's cold here too..but on a good note I just heard that our winter won't be as snowy as it was last year! Have a great weekend!

  3. Yum to that cranberry fluff!! We have a church picnic once a year, when everyone gathers. The church does all the food, though. Of course, our church has 2,200 families, so it's a little different. Last year, I worked with the Knights of Columbus and our RCCW group to put the hamburgers and hotdogs together, wrap them in foil and put them in coolers to stay hot. I didn't get to enjoy much of the picnic, but we fed a whole bunch of people (lots of Hispanics and Migrants at our church).

Glad Jim got his teeth filled and didn't need something more! Aryn's coach is being careful because she is the star player. I'm sure he doesn't want her out for the season with a wrist problem. It's good he is watching out for her (and the team). Keep us posted on her condition, please!

  4. It's finally cooled off in SE Georgia (50's at night - 60's during day) but we need rain badly. Please pray for our area? Thanks. Hope Aryn heals up fast and there's no pain. I'm thankful for the lower gas prices too. It's helping our small budget considerably. The meal sounds like fun. I enjoy cranberries too. That seems like a really good recipe. I may have to totally "steal" it. *lol* Thanks for sharing.
    Stay well! Luv ~:)

  6. Hi Linda.... your fluff looks so good. I think I'll make that for Thanksgiving dinner. Like you, simple and fast is what I like too. I hope Aryn's wrist isn't injured so she can play next week. I'm sure the trainer said, It's better to be safe than sorry. Let us know what happens.
Isn't it good to see those prices at the pumps again? I hope they continue to come down even farther.
We're chilly here too but it's normal for us. Suppose to get down into the teens next week. Yuk! You keep warm.
