Do you ever have those 'sleepless' nights, where you think you hear something and lay there trying to figure out what it is and where it is coming from?  I had that plus I smelled smoke.  I got up and walked all through the house, looked out the windows and all was calm.  I actually got up three different times and still, nothing.  That was about 2:30 and from then until I got up at 6, no sleep.  Jim was and is, snoring away!

It was 37 when I finally got up and I am loving it!  Clear, quiet and just the perfect fall day.  I am looking forward to church this morning to worship and hear God's Word spoken and to see friends.

SPEAKING OF PUMPKINS..............WERE WE??

Sugar Bear pumpkins were used by the pilgrims for their first feast.

Remember, Cinderella's carriage
 was from a pumpkin!

Did you know----
The world’s largest pumpkin was grown by Ron Wallace from Greene, Rhode Island. It weighed 2,009 pounds.
The largest pumpkin pie was presented by residents of New Bremen, Ohio, on September 25, 2010, at the New Bremen annual Pumpkinfest. The pie was 20 feet in diameter and weighed 3,699 pounds.
Pumpkin regatta races are held in Nova Scotia, Maine, Oregon, and Vermont every year. Contestants carve out gigantic 1,000-pound pumpkins and race them as boats.

  2. Ask the doctor first, but try using "ZzzQuil" (as opposed to NiteQuil). It really works! No hang over, easy sleeping, etc. My husband used it first, then me. We both feel better after a good night's rest.
I like pumpkins too. They're tasty, a pretty color, and fun to use for decorations in the Fall.
Hope y'all have a restful day. Luv ~:)

  3. I'm sorry to read of your sleepless night. I sometimes struggle with sleep and I know how frustrating it can be.
I love pumpkins! I think its something about the bright orange - it seems so cheerful.

  4. Our daughter #2 lived in New Bremen at the time and saw that pumpkin pie. I wish I had gotten some pictures. It was fantastic.
Sorry you had another sleepless night. I've done that with the smoke smell. It's very unnerving. Where we live there's a campground not far from us and we get the odors from their camp fires when the wind is blowing just right.
So glad you got good reports from your Dr. You have a great day.

  5. I like your pumpkin trivia. :)
I was also awake several times last night. A skunk must have sprayed something very close to our house, because the smell came in! It woke me several times, even though no windows were open. When I went to work my car stunk too. Yuk!
