SLEEP DEPRIVATION

Last night was the 4th night that I haven't slept more than a couple of hours. Nothing is on my mind or bothering me, I just can't seem to sleep.  I stay up later hoping that will help; I lay still, close my eyes, pray, hoping I will drift off, but no, that doesn't work either.  It seems to run in cycles for me.  Do you have a similar problem with your sleeping pattern?

Jim doesn't feel good and I am worn out, plus am broken out all over with a rash, from whence it came I know not, so we are not going to church this morning.  We both go to our primary care doctor in a couple of weeks.  I am going to talk to him about all the medicines I take, bruising on my arms, lack of sleep, etc.  I feel like he will say it is an age related situation, but I want to be sure.  On top of all that, I have gained nearly 4 lbs. and am not eating anything different.  I have now shared my ups and downs, aches and pains....any suggestions 'doctor'?

I think my title picture is so pretty, but we aren't there (leaves changing color) yet, but it won't be long.  Driving the other evening along the interstate, we both noticed a slight change already and am sure, more to come.  I love fall and her colors.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that you're not sleeping enough and neither of you are feeling well. I will pray for you both. Hugs to you!

  2. Is there pain with the rash? Could be shingles, if so. So sorry to hear about the sleep deprivation and Jim not feeling well. Maybe you should ask to see the Doctor sooner. I personally don't like drugs, so, I have a small glass of white wine before retiring and that helps me. Praying for y'all from here. Doctor Sparky *giggle* ~:)

  3. Linda.....are you able to exercise.....maybe that will make you sleep better. I had a friend who had shingles....might be a possibility. Has your doctor talked to you about the shingles vaccination....just one shot and that's it. Feel better.

  4. I have had the shingles shot, and took care of my aunt who did have shingles, so not that. It isnt painful, no blistering, just a red rash, like allergy maybe. Who knows, seems like I have something new all the time. Thank for your caring. This too shall pass.

  5. {Linda} I am so sorry...I don't know what to say. Have you used something new? New detergent? New soap? Have you ate something new (and sometimes regular food will suddenly develope rashes)? Leaves are changing here, noticed the Armory has a big oak tree, beautiful colors, as are the mountain tops too.---Keeping you in prayer.

  6. Linda, I am so sorry you and Jim are both under the weather today. Your rash could be stress related, because of the insomnia. Being a nurse, you know your body well, though, so it's silly for me to be speculating. I just hope you can get some sleep and start feeling better. Yes, I have trouble sleeping now and then. It is usually on a Sunday night, knowing I have work the next day and another week ahead. Take care. Prayers lifted!

  7. Your title picture is so pretty. We've had just enough chilly nights that the leaves on the trees are beginning to show signs of color change. It won't be long and I'm NOT looking forward to it.
No doctor here but it does sound like your meds are causing you problems. The bruising is from blood thinners (if you take them). Bob's arms can look so bad from just the slightest bump. I hope you both get to feeling better today.

  8. I'm sorry about your issues - not sleeping is awful without the other issues. Rashes are so hard to figure out.
Praying for both of you today.

  9. My mom-in-law has trouble with her sleep and like you, it seems to run in cycles. I agree with Sue, if you can exercise each day that might help.

  10. Oh, I have had insomnia since high school. Some nights are better than others and like you it seems to run in cycles. Hope you get some good sleep soon and figure out what the rash is from.
