TUESDAY TRICKS!

Sometime our eyes play tricks on us.  We see something like we think it is, and after study, it is something else.  Can you find the man's face in the title picture. Some will find it immediately, some, like me, have to look twice!

Quick Quiz:
"Things are not always what they seem" because they
  a) are always unseemly
b) always deceive you
     c) sometimes deceive you

We make quick judgments about someone or something, to find out later on, it wasn't that way at all.  We need to think before we speak or act.

It was a bitter sweet service at church last night.  Our Pastor's son brought the message and it was a 'winner'!  It was from 1st Samuel 4:1-11.  30,000 men were slaughtered, the ark of the covenant was taken.  It all seemed like a negative because they were depending on 'it' rather than God.  We don't worship an 'it'; our church building isn't worshiped, it is an 'it'.  We don't have 'things' to worship.  We have God, and He alone is what we worship.

Also, we recognized the young people going back to or beginning college.  We had 6 that would be leaving our congregation.  They have had a great impact on the younger group and have led them all summer.  They will be missed for sure, and the Pastor's son is one of them.

Jim felt good enough to go to church morning and evening and I am thankful for that.  We are due some heavy rain today and tomorrow, so it will be an inside day for me....doing laundry, etc.

Did you ever stop to think,
and forget to start again?

  1. That is a very good lesson. Something we all could use in our lives. Things are not always the way the appear.
I do swear my single socks are hiding somewhere ... laughing at me ... *lol*
Hope you both have a pain free, joyful day. ~:)

  2. So happy Jim had a good day yesterday, Linda, and I hope he has a good week ahead! I love the Winnie the Pooh saying....happens to me all the time!

Your message hits home in so many ways. Too often, especially in these times, things are worshiped - especially by our young folks. There is only the Blessed Trinity. Amen.

So glad you both were able to go to church yesterday. Your pastor's son delivered a good message.
Hope you have a good day. It's raining here too and I'll be doing the same things. Take care.
