THANKFUL TUESDAY!

We take so much for granted.  I was watching the news on TV last night and it showed helicopters landing and throwing out food packages, water and even shoes for the people stranded on a mountain in the 'war' zone.  Shoes, just think of that.  The terrain was rocky, dusty and around 40,000 people were hovering there.  I am so thankful that, even with all the problems we have in the USA, I live in the greatest country in the world.

This is taken from a news article---
"We are being told to convert or to lose our heads," said Khuldoon Atyas, who has stayed behind to guard his family's crops. "There is no one coming to help."
Another man, who is hiding in the mountains and identified himself as Nafi'ee, said: "Food is low, ammunition is low, and so is water. We have one piece of bread to share between 10 people. We have to walk 2km to get water. There were some air strikes yesterday [against the jihadists], but they have made no difference."
Makes you stop and think, or at least it does me.  We need to faithfully pray for the entire situation.

I am thankful that school has started here without a 'hitch'! My grandchildren all seem to be happy with their teachers, etc.

I have a follow up visit with the doctor who does my epidurals.  I am very thankful to God for giving him the knowledge and ability to do these procedures.

I am thankful that for the last few days, Jim has felt good. When he talks a lot, I know he feels better!  lol

I am enjoying my Gevalia coffee this morning and am thankful to be able to purchase the k-cups!

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY IN A SPECIAL WAY!

  4. We were praying for the persecuted church in Bible Study this morning. We have it so good here. Not everyone does around the world. It really does put things in perspective.

  5. I'm also thankful for all these things. God has blessed us more than we deserve. Also, our wonderful blogging friends. I think we help each other stay focused on what's "real". There's so much strife everywhere. So much unnecessary anger and hatred, all because of the Muslims. We have been praying for the Christians and Jews to succeed in staying safe, fed and receive the aid that's needed. It's not looking good though. Our "President" is not a humanitarian.

Glad to hear Jim is doing well! And hope you are also. ~:)

  6. A great post, Linda. You are right that we are certainly blessed. Prayers continue from me for all concerns, including yours. So glad the kids are happy and that Jim is feeling better.

  7. Those poor people. It is an awful situation. And to be truthful, it scares me. Whether people want to admit it or not, the Muslims that are moving into our country and into government positions are preparing to do the same to us.
I'm glad the kids got started in the new school year without a hitch. You and Jim have a great day.
